A few miles north of the community, through Rifle Gap, one will find the site of Christo and Jeanne-Claude's famous art piece, the "Valley Curtain," hung in 1975. Continue the course and one will find the picture perfect Rifle Falls. One may continue the course to a narrow canyon signaling the arrival of Rifle Mountain Park.

Within the century-old town of Rife one is able to experience a real old west experience. The streets of Rifle are embellished by a surprising variety of sculptures, such as an elk at the towns entrance, and a cowboy riding a trout. In the town of Rifle one is confronted by the old west in concert with the modernity of the "new west." Parks And Recreation
The community of Rifle is home to some of the most beautiful natural recreation areas in the country. Additionally, the Rifle Parks and Recreation Department maintains a number of parks and facilities that provide a number of programs and services to those of all ages.

Centennial Park is the premiere park in the community of Rifle. Completed at the end of 2010 the park features historical information, a water play area, a large sundial, a community amphitheater and more. The park has received multiple prestigious awards, including the 2011 Starburst Award from Colorado Lottery, the 2011 CPRA Columbine Award for Park Design, the 2011 Downtown Colorado Inc. Award for Best Downtown Park and the 2011 Design Concepts Merit Award.

The park hosts many of the community's events, including the Fall Festival, the Centennial Concert Series and Market, and the Tree Lighting Ceremony many. Today, the park operates as an icon that brings to life the community's history and invigorates Rifle's artistic and cultural community.
